National Park Week: Mesa Verde NPS

Not only do National Parks provide a retreat to reacquaint ourselves with nature and explore our connection to it, but they are an educational experience as well. Take for example Mesa Verde NPS, home of many ancient Puebloans cliff dwellings. Indeed there is the stunning landscape of the high desert to enjoy, but also all around are the dwelling ruins of those who came before us. Here we have the opportunity to increase our knowledge of a long ago people, much different from us today, through experiential learning by walking through the places they once lived, but to also come to question what it is to be human and discover those ties that speak to our common humanity.DSC01578DSC01549DSC01554DSC01568
