It has taken me a while, but after some time I have figured out a direction for this blog.
If I can alter a quote by German philosopher Immanuel Kant, “Two things fill my mind with ever new and increasing admiration and awe…the natural world around me and the inner landscape of human experience within me. That is what you will find on this blog split into two broad categories, The Natural World and The Human World.
The Natural World is something we are apart from and a part of at the same time. No physical place speaks so clearly to me than that of nature. It is the doorway through which I most easily experience wonder and spirituality, lesson and peace. So it is here that you will find recounting of experiences in nature through the words and photography.
The Human World is the unique “humanness” we bring into existence, the questions that we conjure and wrestle with, how we experience existence both inwardly and outwardly, and the impact that has on others and the world around us. It is here that you will find, as Rilke wrote in his Letters to a Young Poet, my best attempt at loving the questions and hoping that one day I will live myself into the answers.
